What memory will be compatible with my system

Hi

I tried using Crucial but for some reason, neither their online tool or the downloaded tool is working for me.

I currently have a desktop computer and looking to upgrade my memory. However, I want to make sure that the memory I pick is compatible.

Below, I'm providing the current motherboard, memory and OS I have. If someone can provide advice, I would be very grateful.

That set should be fine with your mobo, your mobo can take that or 1333 w/ basically any CPU in that socket type

Oh sorry. My mistake. That is the memory I already have. I'm hoping to add more but was not sure what I could add as my current patriots have been discontinued.

The one I am eyeing is this. Of course I will have to remove one of my current chips to accomodate this (as the max my motherboard goes to is 12 gigs of RAM)

If that's your mobo, the P6T, it can take 24GB...mixing sets of DRAM can be problematic with any mobo, espcially with 1366 and 2011 mobos, especially different brands, and densities, timings and voltages...best bet would be to get a single set of 12 GB

Hmm... oh well. I hate having to throw away the 6 gigs i already have but i see your logic. Thanks.

By the way, you said it can take 24 gigs. But the description in that link I gave you said 12gigs.

"You can install up to 12GB of DDR3 1333 RAM in triple channel mode for increased performance. "

Also, can I use 4 gig ram sticks with my motherboard?

Open the link you provided and look in the details tab, shows max mem 24GB, can use 1, 2, or 4GB sticks

I've seen the Winteks, nice sticks, for the price I'd go with them, same, 1600/9, as the more expensive Muskins, and the few sets of Wintek I've played with have been strong and OC-able
