Hi,
I have a cooler (Dark Rock Pro 4) and cpu (AMD Ryzen 5 3600x). It is the first time I am going to build PC on my own. Please help me with applying thermal paste. With what method should I apply thermal paste? And what details should I take into account considering I am building a PC for the very first time.

Solution
Opinions vary.
Truth to tell, differences do not amount to much.
Perhaps 2c.

I use a rice sized drop in the center with intel processors.
Ryzen may be a bit different.
It will spread out under heat and pressure without trapping air bubbles.

The purpose of paste is to fill in microscopic air pits in the mating surfaces.
Air is a poor conductor of heat.
Paste is better, but paste is not as good as metal to metal contact.
Too much paste is counter productive.
I find it is hard to use too little.

Not to worry.
Your DRP4 is an excellent cooler and ryzen 3600X is not a particularly hot processor.
You will be fine, no matter how you do it.
