I bought a replacement fan for my case, It's a Cooler Master Case and a Cooler Master fan with argb, well seems my gpu has argb, but it's not compatible with the fan, Neither does my motherboard have the correct argb header.

Well I got the fan working, and I can set the rpm's.

But my question is what components do I need to make the RGB function as it ought too?

Solution
Note - Cooler Master Masterfan MF120 Halo is aRGB fan.
You need aRGB controller for it (5V).

RGB controller (12V) can not be used for it (not compatible).
If you somehow manage to connect it to aRGB fan, you'll damage it.
your board does not have a rgb header so will need full name and model of case .
It's a Cooler Master HAF series case more than that I just don't know, because I did not buy it myself.

Besides that, like I said above I did not meet any capable port for argb when installing the fan, so I'll need to know what other methods there are that one can purchase for one's pc case that can make a argb fan work as intended to, and like I have said above I already know about the Cooler Master argb hub that one can get, but like I have said I think that would be overkill for my purpose.

I have looked around online and can't find something suitable, I suppose what I'm really trying to find out if you can't simply use some sort of smaller controller to power the lights of an argb fan instead of using your Gpu or case or overkill hub.

So maybe pointing me in the correct direction of say a capable but not overkill piece of hardware, would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for taking an interest and helping me look into this, our shops online here or it might be me are a little vague in this regard.

Since your motherboard doesn't have aRGB header, then your only option is getting aRGB fan controller.

Thank you, at least now I know what these things are called: ARGB hub and argb controllers.

Seems like they are powered by a sata power connection plug and thus feed the 5v to the argb, whatever that might be, simple, but looking at the images online I cant see that any of these things are compatible with what I got: eg; 4pin male or female argb with one pin blocked out.

Ps, can't see your links above, gives me an error page on the amazon site.

You can mark this thread solved, I got a pretty good Idea of what I should be looking for if I decide to go the route of enabling my addressable red green blue fan with it's lights, without having said capability on neither my case nor my gpu or motherboard.

But please feel free to post a working link if you happen to find something that I could use in my setup.
