What might the reason of a back to back keyboard failure?

I have Asus GL552VW, I think I may have dropped some sweet because whenever I leave the laptop for a while I see ANTs crawling. It wasn't a problem for 6 months until 1 week ago when some of the keys of my keyboard failed. After that I bought a ttesports keyboard and left it whole day in front of the laptop. Strangely some keys of that keyboards also stopped working. But I couldn't see any bugs on that keyboard. I have another old keyboard which is still working very fine. What could be the possible reason for such random key failures ? It's not a driver problem because I checked with both Ubuntu and Windows.

Often times the issue can be with your drivers or at least the OS being corrupt. By Windows are we talking about Windows 10 or prior? If Windows 10, have you made sure your laptop's BIOS is up to date? Which BIOS revision are you on?

Speaking of which ave you tried reinstalling your OS after recreating the bootable USB installer to rule out a corrupt installer? If you're on Windows 10, you ,may want to try a repair install and see if any changes take precedence.
