Was recently gifted a GTX 1070. My current setup is nearly 5 years old. Want to upgrade MOBO, CPU, RAM. Don't have a budget, but at the same time just looking for something to last the next 2 years or so. Also not overclocking or running SLI.
Your current specs are fine to run with that 1070 although I'd use it with a 1440P monitor or run your games at 2xDSR.i5 4690

16 gb Hyper X Fury DDR3

I'm currently using a 1080p 144hz monitor. Not really interested in going up res. FPS priority for me.Your current specs are fine to run with that 1070 although I'd use it with a 1440P monitor or run your games at 2xDSR.

If possible hold off on the upgrade for two months, Ryzen 3rd gen should be out in early July and looks promising or at the very least you could probably get a really good deal on first/second gen Ryzen CPU's.
Are you not getting high FPS with the 4690 & 1070?I'm currently using a 1080p 144hz monitor. Not really interested in going up res. FPS priority for me.
I guess I'll just wait a couple of months.
Depends on the game. I get decent FPS with most games, except PUBG 70 fps usually. I do have issues with Escape from Tarkov. Pretty much unplayable for me currently. Are you not getting high FPS with the 4690 & 1070?
yeah probably what I'll do. I had a friend who bought it used it for 3 months, decided to buy a 1080 and just gave it to me.hold your horses for few more months and get either 10th gen intel or 3rd gen ryzen.. and who is gifting GPUs .. god i need to find such ppl too, i could use a GTX1070 or 1660ti or something.
Odd you can't play it as you exceed the recommended requirements.Depends on the game. I get decent FPS with most games, except PUBG 70 fps usually. I do have issues with Escape from Tarkov. Pretty much unplayable for me currently.
Up until recently It would constantly crash. Found a fix for that, but even with all low settings I average 45 fps with dips down to the high 10's.Odd you can't play it as you exceed the recommended requirements.
