Hi all, I'm thinking about upgrading my PC, but i'm really not sure what Mobo to get. I want to make sure that the one I get is going to perform well with the rest of my upgrades, and be 100% compatible, so that I get maximum performance out of the new hardware i'm getting.

My Current PC:

550w Power Supply
LIAN LI PC-60USB B2 Silver Aluminum ATX Mid Tower - Link
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Mobo - Link
BFG 7900GT 256m Video card
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Manchester 2.2GHz 512KB L2 - Link
Corsair XMS DDR 400 PC 3200 2gb - Link
Western Digital 7200 RPM 120 gig HD - Link

Upgrades:
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB - Link
Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 800 - Link
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz - Link

Any and all suggestions are appreciated, thanks all!

I would recommend the Gigabyte GA-865P DS3. Good stable board, not too expensive. Overclocks well. If you need SLI or lots of features you might want something else though.

I agree, it's a great OC mobo with no other frills. Just make sure your case is nice and cool and use a good aftermarket cpu cooler. Also, what kind of power supply do you have and how many amps are produced on the 12v rail?

Hmmm yeah, I was thinking about getting a little more power in my system to be safe. I was thinking this PSU though, seems to have gotten better reviews, and I don't mind the extra $$ as long as it looks good to you all. --Link--

And Kitchenshark, did you mean GA-965P? This guy right here? --link--

Hmm I read some reviews for that Mobo and it seems a lot of people are having a problem with the BIOS resetting to default settings, which would make it very hard to OC... That's another thing I would love to OC.

Ok, I've done some more research and it looks like I'm gonna stick with the Gigabyte GA-965P DS3 Mobo, for some quality over clocking, I changed some other things, so here's what I'm thinking about getting:

Power Supply - Link
Mobo - Link
CPU - Link
RAM - Link
Video Card - Link

I plan to follow this guide (( Link )) to get my CPU to 3.4Ghz or higher using these as cooling (( Link , Link )) Anyone see any conflicts? Questions, comments, complaints? 😛
