Hi, I need help to choose the motherboard that I will use in my first build.

I will use an Athlon 200ge (yes, this low level processor), because initially I want to invest more in a graphics card, and a few months later, change the processor for something much better.

My budget allows me to spend up to $ 100 so I must adjust to a motherboard equal to or below that price.

I do not have much experience that's why I need help. I do not want to spend my money in an erroneous way.

MSI Gaming Plus B450

MSI Bazooka B450

GIGABYTE B450 AORUS M

These were the Micro ATX motherboads that I saw in Amazon for that price.

Do any of them stand out?
I'm going the wrong way?

Please help me make a decision, or mention one that is better.

Greetings.

Good strategy.

Of that selection I'd choose the Gaming Plus or the Bazooka. But you might also consider another board: Asrock B450M Pro4. I'd choose these mainly because they have very good VRMs that will do you well when you get to a more potent 6 core processor.

The good thing about the MSI choices is that some of their BIOS's allow overclocking of the 200ge processor. That would be a boon you probably didn't count on.

The Asrock board also comes with a second M.2 slot, which is really nice.

I'd steer clear of the Gigabyte. They don't have a great reputation with AM4 and their VRM's are pretty weak. Don't be fooled by all those chokes, the just put a bunch of them there to make it look like a good VRM.

Hi, thanks for answering, I discarded the Asrock after seeing that it is not 6 + 3 phase, it is 3 + 3 phase.

As you say the Gigabyte is just a mobo that looks good. I already saw some reviews and I decided to discard it too.

Just reviewed that the Athlon is much better processor than I expected, I did not know that I could overclock on it.

Only MSI is left and I think I'll have to decide between those 2, Bazooka looks better I think.

About the Asrock: yes it is a 3 phase VCore VRM, but it's a very strong three phases! It has 4 powerful FET's on each phase...2 lo-side and 2 hi-side. That coupled with the very nice heatsink makes a cool-running VRM even for 4 core CPU's, all-core overclocked. It has received some very nice reviews by some pretty serious overclockers and it's considered one of the best B450 choices for overclocking. Just have to say that.

Still, overclocking that 200ge would be nice....
