I have a 750w PSU and 2133 corsair memory. Updating from an AMD 8350. I like the ASUS 570x TUF GAMING PLUS but it appears I have to use some support CPU to boot it. I don't want the hassle. I was really leaning into the MSIx470 gaming plus but it got some bad reviews of DOA's. ASRock B450M Steel Legend had some decent reviews but it lacks ports and had some critical reviews also. I'm not opposed to buying any of these I've listed I just want the pro's opinion.

Hey there,

Something like this will work right out of the box:
PCPartPicker Part List

Motherboard: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard ($169.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $169.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

But, I would seriously consider getting some faster ram. You will absolutely hobble your system with 2133mhz ram. You really need 3200mhz+. It will give you so much more performance. This is because the way the Ryzen infinity fabric works. Ryzen loves fast ram. Prefereably with that CPU you should be looking at 2 x 8gb kit of 3600mhz ram. It's a perfect match for the 5600x

I guess the question about "lacking ports" would involve us asking you the question "Well, what ports do you need?" Hard to tell what you're missing if we don't know!

I second Keith's recommendation to get faster RAM. The lowest-end RAM one can find is not a good choice for AMD builds; by using very slow RAM, you cancel out one of the advantages of choosing AMD in the first place. If this is the RAM you're stuck with, I'd just go with a Comet Lake i5.

It's short on USB ports compared to other mobo's comparably priced.

New Egg says that board needs flashed. It has a "Q-Flash" enabled but so so the TUF Gaming.
