What MoBo Would You Buy for i5-6600k and R9 380x/390?

Solution

You can literally chose any ATX Z170 motherboard with Dual PCI-e x16 lanes and it will be more than adequate for your system.

It really just comes down to personal preference, such as what colours match your theme (if you have one), which one has enough SATA ports, which one has enough USB ports for your needs etc., so its really hard for other people to say.

That said, here are some great choices, cheap at the top, more expensive at the bottom:

- ASRock Z170 Extreme4

- Gigabyte Z170-Gaming K3

- MSI Z170A KRAIT

- Asus Z170-A

- Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3

- Asus ROG Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger
Any z170 would do, but personally I would go for ASRock Z170 Pro4. It's cheaper for the main reason that it doesn't support SLI, however it supports 2way and 3way crossfire which is perfect for someone going for AMD. And it supports pretty much 95% of the features of other high end Z170 mobos.

This is what I'm looking for. I don't need a $200+ gaming motherboard, but I will most likely buy a second 380x and crossfire them. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ok good to know. I punched everything into a wattage calculator and with 2 380x's it came to 700W. I'm not sure how much overheard you want to leave yourself.
