I'm looking to buy a 980, as it seems to be the best option at my 400$ price limit. (If you disagree I'd love to hear your input) I don't know much about buying gpus and I'm quite confused on how to chose a model. There are several models that show up while I look around. What is the best model? Is it worth paying extra for a better model?
Also, how long do you think until my 980 will have to be replaced?

Thanks for any answers, in advance. I appreciate it greatly.

i recommend EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0

but a gtx 980 starts at 500. if your budget is 400 you would want to look at a gtx 970.

both are excellent cards and should keep you going for a couple years. no one can tell you exactly how long your card will keep up with new technology. they can only speculate.

evga has a great reputation and makes good quality parts. their gpus come with a 3 year warranty and an optional 5 year for $30 and 10 year for $60.
if at any time in 90 days a new model of your gpu comes out you can return it to evga for the cost of shipping and the price difference of the better card.

I found an Evga model for $440 new. Should I take this deal or should I invest in a better model like MSI or gigabyte? Or is the difference not worth it?

There seem to be 2 evga models, the one you sent and also another silver one. Which one is better?
