Hi All,

I have a dilemma, I have an option between 3 types of monitor configs :

1. 1440p @ 144Hz - Acer XG270HU 27" +-$485
2. 1080p @ 144Hz - Lenovo Y27f +- $326
3. 4K @ 60Hz - SAMSUNG U28E590D 28 +-@416

prices are high due to the high exchange rate in my country ( South Africa)

I have a RX580 that I want to upgrade to a 1070/1080/ti in the next coming months. 20 series cards are just way to pricey.

What would you choose?

Thanks

wasnt talking for your rx580 :) but when you upgrade your gpu. but lets say you play GTA 5 on 1080ti in 4k has like 70 fps in 1440p around 90. soo 144hz monitor is not going to be used (well if you lower the graphic options then you can get the 144 frames).and new gpus coming later this year should be able to do that in 144hz on 4k. hope it helps.

if you want to play on 144hz go with option 2, its hard to reccomend a monitor when we dont know how and why you need it, for gaming if you are ok with 60hz go with 4k. and for 144hz some newer games cant get that much fps even in 1080p so its useless for some games, but if you run games and the fps stays above 144 frames then sure go with the 144hz monitor.

I will mainly use it for gaming. Currently I play at 1080p@70Hz ( screen is overclcoked) 23" screen. I would like to play at 1440p, I know I will never get the 144fps on a RX580 but it would be nice to know that I have a 144Hz screen should I upgrade to a GPU that can handle it.
