My specs:

INTEL 4670K Stock
ASUS Z87 PLUS
CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 1600
EVGA 970 GTX

I only play FPS, and usually max settings. I currently have a Samsung '27 LCD and with my new GPU upgrade I feel the monitor is next.

This is the first one I am looking at:

ASUS VG278HE 27-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor 144hz 2ms

The 2nd is this:

Acer B326HUL ymiidphz 32-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440)

Obviously the Asus has the best specs, but I seen that 32 inch at Frys last week and that is just a monster!

Yes. I use a gtx 970 to game at 144hz. However on intense games I get around 90fps which to me is very smooth. After 90 fps I don't see a huge difference.

For 1440p it will also suffice. Just look at the benchmarks, it is a 1440p card.

When you say FPS, do you mean BF4? Do you mean CSGO? The difference between a QHD and a 144hz display comes down to pure FPS vs Image quality. For a serious CS player, I would always recommend the 144hz, but for a more casual gamer who wants his games to look amazing rather than seizing every competitive edge, get a QHD display.

144hz will look great on those games. First person shooters really benefit from the extra refresh rate, but when it comes to some third person games like tomb raider or shadow of mordor I can't tell a difference after 60fps. It depends on the games you play and if you prefer smoothness or quality.
