What Monitor to use with a EVGA 1080 TI Card or similar

Do i really need a Monitor with the expensive G Sync on it, i dont play fast FPS games usually RTS games, like Dawn of War.

Monitors without G Sync are so much cheaper, a 28 inch or 32 inch 4k are a few Hundred Pounds here in the UK.

Any recommendations would be great if you have the time to reply, thank you.

A 1440p monitor is the better choice than a cheap 4k monitor.
