Hello People of Tom's Hardware.

I want to buy a new monitor, my 7 year old 1080" HD monitor still works perfectly fine with zero issues whatsoever however maybe in the near future I am planning to make a switch to 2k gaming, I have a couple of monitors here, but I do not know what is best one.

I was looking for these 3

https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-SWIFT-PG279Q/
https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/7e787a7
and
http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34UC89G-B-ultrawide-monitor

I know that the LG monitor is bigger, considering it is 34" and the others 27" however I am a tad conflicted about the response times, would I be able to see the difference?

The LG monitor in my local shop at the moment is the cheapest, however I was planning onto getting the PG279Q for quite a while now, though I do not know if it'd be the right choice out of the three.

Could you help me?

Thanks!

I had to send my 980 Ti for RMA, which I should get back next week orso, though considering EVGA does not produce 980 ti's anymore, there might be a chance that i'd get a 1080 instead, not entirely sure but it'll be either a 980 TI or a GTX 1080.

From those three i'd recommend the first one(PG279Q) since it has IPS, but they sometimes suffer from backlight bleed, if you're not bothered by it, it's the best option.

Otherwise, consider this one Acer Predator XB271HU, it's almost the same as the 279Q but doesn't suffer from backlight.

Backlight bleed, I am not entirely sure what kind of effect that would have on screen, I have never really heard of the term before.

The second acer one has a 1 ms time response, however- would there be a noticeable difference between the two acer monitors?

Also what about the Acer Predator XB271HU apart from the price difference?

Aside from the number? IMHO no. Only if you eyes were incredibly good enough to see the fraction those milliseconds of difference will produce. But the difference between a TN and a IPS panel are huge, the colors from the IPS are outstanding and much more worthy than those on a TN panel IMHO.

They are basically the same(same specs, https://www.144hzmonitors.com/other/asus-pg279q-vs-acer-xb271hu/ ), but i've read much less backlight bleed issues from the Acer one, both are great still.
