Like the title says... i bought this system today from a wholesaler on craigslist for $45. Its missing a CPU and hard drive, but I plan on putting a $65 G3258 dual core overclocked to probably 4GHz, maybe more, and a $42 Sandisk SSD in it. And then later on when i get more money i may put a GTX 960 in it and make it a cheap gaming machine.

Just hoping you guys would be able to tell me what motherboard this is so i can look up the info on this board and find out if its an LGA 1150 socket or not and what kind of slots it has.
The system originally was a Dell Optiplex 7010.

Also, to learn more about the heatsink, do you guys happen to know what kind of heatsink is seen in the last two pictures?

Thank you so much guys.

that is the stock heatsink, its not good for cooling and it's missing the fan by the looks of it.
as for the motherboard, it's a 1155 socket so you could fit a 3rth gen cpu in there.
and if you are adding a graphics card, then make sure the powersupply has enough watts and is better quality because the ones that come in prebuilt pc's are crap.

hope this helps

(this is if it is really a dell optiplex 7010)

How can you tell what socket it is? Im curious if these are pci-e 2.0 or 3.0 slots
Fans are pretty cheap really

The case says dell optiplex 7010 on the front

I typed dell optiplex 7010 in google, and then i looked at the specs

Weird, i tried that but didnt find anything. Guess ill look again

I can use a g3258 if i put a $30 board in it. Speaking of which, will this case hold a micro atx board? Im assuming so, but would like to double check

Hm, I am late to the party, oh well.

It is Desktop version, power supply is not upgradable, if you decide to use that case, you would have to deal with Dell front panel proprietary connectors, which can render your efforts useless, plus purchasing WIn OS.

It would be better to start all over again, but you already spent those bucks...

I still strongly advise to get new case, and subsequently, new power supply - just look at bottom left corner of Mini Tower (same connections types) MOBO, I choose this image for its size

Bottom left corner BLACK connector is the front panel power button connector, plus look at BLUE front USB connector, how you think you will connect your existing Optiplex connectors to Gigabyte motherboard.

There are no schematics available....
