What motherboard can support 2x GTX 1050?

Hi, im looking to build a pc in about 2 months time and I have got it all ready but I have decided I want to get 2 gtx 1050 2gb. I have had a look and cant find any motherboards that will support both of them in my price range of under £150. I dont know if I am being stupid but any help would be appreciated.

1| SLI support is limited and not everything/every game out there will employ it.
2| There is an AMD and and Intel platform, which camp are you trying to shoot for? Reason being, we can't recommend an AMD board if you have an Intel processor. Likewise we can't recommend a latest gen motherboard if you have a previous generation processor.

3| Thus we'd need your full system's specs(or the proposed build) to better understand the platform.

Doesn't matter anyway the 1050/1050ti/1060 do not support sli to begin with.

Assuming you wanted to go Nvidia and SLI. You'd need a z170 SLI supporting motherboard and two 1070s that is the lowest priced new GPU with SLI capabilities.

Ok thanks everyone I'll have to rework my unit... Can someone explain to me in basic what sli stands for (I'm a noob) and would 2x gtx 980ti work?

Scalable link interface aka. SLI is a means of connecting more than one GPU and have them work together to out perform a single card.

Why on earth are you so excited for SLI? How do you go from two 1050s to twin 980tis? Some games(not many) SLI will offer maybe a 50% increase over a single 980ti, most are more in the 25-35% range in terms of an increase... Many newer titles don't support it at all so you'll see zero gain from the second card. You're much better off buying one card than dealing with monumental headaches of sli

this thread began with an SLI build and you don't know what SLI stands for? With a mere 1080p monitor you're wasting any potential that a 2-way GTX 980Ti SLI would have.

Agreed buying the single most powerful card that your budget allows is the most sensible path to take. Ofc you will need to understand that high end GPU's are the stuff needed to drive larger display's(and their larger native resolutions). In conjunstion to the Z170 route, you're going to definitely need to go for an unlocked K suffix processor and a 3200MHz ram kit to get to the sweet spot.

I'm curious as well as to how you've changed ship with 2xGTX980Ti's...? What's with your fascination with SLI? In this day and age, your SLI endeavor is just more electrical bills to worry about than seeing eye candy.

Ok thanks for your help, I didn't realise how much hassle having 2 cards will be and I'll take your advice in getting one card. As for the 980ti I meant to put *780ti* (only just realised) and it is my first custom built PC so I didn't really know what to go for as I am more of a software developer and programmer but when it comes to hardware it goes right over my head...
