Which motherboards can have the option to have this cpu on 3.8 on all cores?

Can GIGABYTE GA-Z97-D3H do it?
I prefer to go with gigabyte if possible but i d like to see some more options.

Is this a good motherboard to use? I dont want too expensive or too cheap.

I have an MSI R9 390 8GB.

Upgrading from an old amd phenom ii, i was gonna get an i5 but i have more budget than i thought and i want to have the 8 threats for future proof but dont need to go to the more expensive i7 cpus.

Im new to intel but i read here and other reviews that this xeon is very good for games.

thank you

hehe i always hear about that motherboard and always forget it, ok if i get the asrock will i be able to have the cpu to 3.8 on all cores?
i dont even know how to do it yet but if its on bios its not hard

I assume any board that the chip is listed under the boards cpu support list and its supporting bios ? for the most part any 1150 should and then with that the chip should run at its full pontencal ??

example

Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.40GHz 8MB N/A Haswell Refresh 22nm C0 80W 100 F4 -- work under bios F4

I use ''z '' boards even for non overclocking chips the ''lesser'' board don't have all features as the z and maybe you may want to SLI down the road or something the ''lesser'' boards don't support and your once again looking for a new board to do so

most all ''h'' board don't have overclocking ability's or NVidia sli support -- little things like that may come back and bit you in the but if a certain upgrades you may want to do down the road

i guess thats correct since its supported. so both motherboards will work fine by the look of it? just always thinking z97 as better motherboards.

and this xeon will be good pair with the r9 390 right?

sorry for asking so much first time i really get a full upgrade.

i gotta go soon so let me put it simply... if i order the Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 with either of these 2 motherboards GIGABYTE GA-Z97-D3H or ASRock H97M PRO4 will be fine and being able to have 3.8 on all cores?

do i need a guide on how to have 3.8ghz on all cores or is it too simple?
just asking for this because i ll order this by the end of the month

i mean i ll have it ready by the end of this month.

dude as long as the chip is in the boards supported cpu list like I showed you above with any brand your good now it will be down to each boards specs and features that best fits ''YOUR'' needs overall

if the chip is not listed then its not supported - all board have a supported cpu list for them and all you have to do is look , not that hard
