I've never built a PC before and I tend to run on cheap machines that can just about cope with modern gaming, however I recently won a contest at my local Gaming store which included £1500 for components and a Cooler Master Cosmos II case. With what I've got saved and the £1500 from the store I was looking to put together a beast of a machine. But I'm pretty ignorant of how the inside of things work.
From reading around on this and other sites and asking at the store I think I've decided on the following components (with approximate prices)...
Intel core i7 5690x (£700)
Noctua NHD15 CPU fan (£70)
G.Skill trident Z 2x16Gb DDR4-2800 Ram (£210)
2x Geforce GTX980 Ti (£475 each)
Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SSD (£290)
LG UH12NS29 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer (£90)
Windows 10 (£75)
StarTech ST10000SPEX 10GB Lan (£190)
Asus Xonar Essence STX 24-bit 192 KHz Sound Card (£190)[Not sold on this, I don't do a lot of audio work any more]
The relevant EVGA supernova power supply probably 850 (£100)
I'm clueless as to what motherboard to put in there though, I've got about 400-500 left in the budget . Also I'm working off pretty shaky intel so any advice overall on the build is appreciated. I haven't really worried about space because the CoolerMaster is a huge case.
