Hi everyone, I have been trying to build a computer for three months. This has been quite an ordeal:
I have built computers before, but this one had me stumped. I had ordered the parts, all seemed to be compatible from my research, but when I got it there was no POST. In fact, I have never even seen an on-screen image from this PC. I sent it to a professional and ended up replacing the PSU, CPU, mobo and finally the RAM. I lost $200 to the RAM I couldn't return, making a total of $400 including the professional's fees. The computer is now back at my home, not working, and it never has. I saw online that the Z87-A motherboard by Asus (my board) had reviews that were much harsher on the board than that of when I ordered it three months ago. There was also a link to another, 'newer' version of my board that didn't previously exist. I am pretty upset with Asus, and feel that their boards aren't very quality (I've had two). I ended up getting a refund from Newegg as long as I bought another board from them (I'd pay the difference if the price of another model was greater). Should I buy Asus's Z97-A board or a Gigabyte one? Or any quality Z97-chipset 1150 board?

What motherboard should I get to replace my http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131981 ? I was thinking the Z97: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132118&cm_re=z97a-_-13-132-118-_-Product , but I'm not sure if I want to use Asus again. What do you think? I need to be sure this new board is also compatible with my current specs and that it is a quality board, and is around $150. I am furious with this project, my dream has turned into a nightmare.
