What motherboard should i get?

Hello, im new to toms hardware, and building pc`s
I want to build a pc, but as i dont know much about computers, which motherboard should i get?
I have 2 requirements for it
1.It has AM3 socket(athlon II x2 250) and PCI express socket (gigabyte hd 5570)
2. I want to keep total cost 500$ or under, so dont reccomend those all fancy mobos

I also dont know much about RAM, so please tell me is DDR2 better than DDR3, i want to have at least 4 gb of ram on new PC.

what are your main uses for this PC? we need information on the rest of your PC components ( some cases only support mATX).

I am a gamer, and i have been told that this GPU-CPU combination can run most of newer games on medium and 1280x1024

what are the rest of the PCs components as i asked before, we need to know other specs such as your current case etc. to provide you with a good mobo recommendation. and so you need USB3.0 and SataIII?

I have really old pc from 2001 right now(with some upgraded content) so i plan getting coolmaster elite 331(ATX) i dont have USB 3.0 devices, so usb3 ports are useless ,dont need sata3 and i have a spare flatron LCD display, so 1280x1024 and probably gonna buy it a usb keyboard, but also have spare PS/2 keyboard so PS/2 port is welcome
