What motherboard to get for my HP Pavilion p6-2310

Okay im thinking about getting a GTX 660 but people say my cpu is weak so i was going to upgrade to the best processor in the FM1 socket area and i heard that cpu isnt a good cpu and will bottleneck my gpu alot. So can someone tell me what motherboard to get that will fit inside of my computer and work. Power Supply 600Watt (Use to have a 300Watt but i upgraded it))

Yes you will have to get new os license key because the key is tied to your motherboard.

I would recomend you save up and build an entire new tower and then sell your old one. At this point the only things you are not replacing is the ram, case, dvd burner.

When you start upgrading many components every single part in an OEM computer starts to hold you back, it will just be easier to build new, espically if you still have the old power supply to throw in the computer.

You can stay amd route and get a am3+ board with a fx-8320. This is the best bang for buck cpu you can get, you can always go intel route as well if budget allows it.

I might just get the A8-3870k And just overclock it to 3.3Ghz and use a GTX 660 If it bottlenecks which it will oh well..i only play GTA San Andreas all im trying to do is play on max settings with mods and get good frame rates. So, can i just put a A8-3870k Cpu in there since its a Fm1 socket? Ive seen someone on YouTube have a A8-3870k and overclocked his to 3.3Ghz and he had a HD 7870 and was playing battlefield 3 getting Min- 80 and max-120. So if that card works for him i think a GTX 660 Wouldn't fall far from that.

It depends on if your motherboard supports that cpu, you will have to go to HPs website and look up your tower and motherboard to find out.

The GTX 660 and 7870 are fairly close so that is a good comparison.

Yeah i just looked on the website and called Hp and they said i could upgrade the cpu just make sure i use anti static band so i wont damage anything. Thanks for your help
