What new features does each new Nvidia series bring?

So I have heard that each new Nvidia series of cards has more features than the previous series. I recently went from AMD to Nvidia on my secondary gaming pc(GTS 250) and realized that a few of my games had GPU water simulation as a graphics option that was not present in the AMD card. Is this one of those new features? Do AMD cards have the same features as Nvidia? Thanks for any answers :)

Solution
Both companies have different features, and there's a giant list on each side.
So basically.
AMD has Mantle, which is it's own graphics API. It's only on some games however.
There's also:
true audio
freesync

Whereas Nvidia has such things such as:
g-sync (same as freesync)
shadowplay (recording through drivers)
physx (a physics engine)
etc.

At this current time yes Nvdia has much more features built into their drivers than AMD does. So to answer your question no, both companies have different features. However each one depends on the games you play and what you want.

-good luck
