hi. i got an e8500 intel core 2 duo. standard speed is 3.16 ghz.

i have it oc at 3.87ghz

i am a game player and want to know what be the best oc for it.

i only have stock fan though, so temps are at 65 degrees at load.

i am buying a thermal take cooler soon (havnt decided which one though :) ) so cooling wont be much of a worry.
any suggestions?

20o cel idle. bout say 45o cel at load! cut of about 50% of the heat!

only problem now is to get it bloody stable. :)

last known stable spot i had was prob. around say 3.97ghz. close but every .01 helps!

ps. at least i know what your talkin bout!

Nothing wrong with 3.87 but with a good cooler lots of people go beyond that. If your ram will allow it, go ahead and see if you can go farther.

I'm not a gamer but from what I read here I gather that you have plenty of cpu power for gaming already.

i have as per the sig, ddr2 800. am gona upgrade to ddr2 1100. should be able to oc better. since i got sweet cooler now should be able to get to 4.5 ghz no probs whatsoever.
