I was thinking about getting Windows 10 but I've heard some iffy reviews and not sure all my parts are compatible. I thought I might get Windows 7. But I am not sure. I plan on doing gaming, program/make my own games, and other normal stuff. I have never really used another OS other Windows. Is there something better I should use or look into?

Thank you for any help provided

What parts are you talking about? A DIY build?

As for OSes, windows is going to be the easiest OS to master since it's very user friendly. But if you want to try out another OS that is more complicated, but far more reliable, go with Linux Ubuntu.

However, keep in mind that the vast majority of games right now are windows only games, so I suggest you dual boot linux.

I like windows 8. It's slightly better in GAMING and just love it. Also you can install classic shell to remove those ugly app tiles and replace with a normal start biutton

I'd suggest upgrading to windows 10 so you don't have to use the classic 3rd party start button anymore.

No thanks, I've tried it and had nothing but trouble with it. Buggy. I might use it a year or so, once it gets ironed out, but for now, loving windows 8

Really? I've had zero issues with windows 10 so far. But if it's buggy for you, no sence spending weeks on troubleshooting. :)
