Question What other components determine SSD speed?

I am curious how all of the components in a computer work together to load information such as copying files or loading a cell in Skyrim (for example).

• Can an SSD outrun a CPU? Would I be wasting money if I bought a Samsung 970 Evo with it's 3,500mb/s read speed for a computer with an i5 8400?
• How does RAM tie into all of that? If I have 8gb of ddr4 2400 RAM, would that keep up with the 970 Evo SSD?

I am basically just curious where bottlenecks happen with file loading speed and what is the fastest SSD my current system can handle.

CPU: i5 8400
GPU: GTX 1060 - 6GB Vram
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x4gb DDR4 2400
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO
