What part do I need to replace on my dying tv?

after 3 years of use my Samsung UE46EH5000 had been very dim and the colors are off with a red-ish tint. Sound works fine only the colors and the very dim display is the issue. Based on my research, the Tcon board needs to be replaced, am i right?

The first thing to check is that all of the LEDs that make up the backlight are actually working. If the any of the LEDs are faulty then replacing the TCON board won't fix anything.

I asked him the same question and he said its probably the tcon or mainboard. Im confused :/

Does it help that I can crank the brightness to the max and it will get pretty bright? I really hope its just the tcon for easier replacement....

Dimness usually refers to the lack of backlight brightness. If your image is faded/unclear then I would suspect the Timing Controller (T-Con) board since it controls the transistors for each LCD pixel.
