What parts do I need for watercooling?

Hello everyone. I am currently going to build myself my first water cooled pc. Here are the parts

• Case: Phanteks Evolv X (I know it’s still not out yet but it releases next month, more or less when I will have these parts ready)
• Mobo: Asus ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming
• CPU: Intel Core i7-8700k (I Olán to overclock it to 5Ghz)
• RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) [quantity x2]
• Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD / Seagate 2TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive
• GPU: Asus GeForce 1080Ti Strix Gaming OC (2 cards for two-way sli)
• PSU: Corsair Professional 1200W, 80+ Platinum Fully Modular


After doing some research on watercooling, these are the components I’ve gathered to complete my build.

• EK-FC 1080 GTX Ti RGB - Nickel (gpu water block)
• EK-FC 1080 GTX Ti Strix rev.2 -Nickel (gpu backplate)
• EK-FB Asus Z270/Z370 Strix - Nickel (monoblock - I went with the monoblock rather than the cpu water block for better preformance)
• EK-CoolStream SE 360 (28mm thick Radiator)
• EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 RGB PWM (Pump/Reservoir combo)
• 12/16mm Acrylic hard tubing
• Corsair AirSeries SP120 PWM High Preformave Case Fans

With that completed, am I missing any compents aside from the fittings? I know I have said a lot and made this thread longer than expected but would highly appreciate any help. This is my first water cooling pc and I want to get everything right. Thank you all for reading.

It's used to start ur pump without switching on the motherboard to fill up ur loop. Pretty useful if suppose u have a leak in the loop.

But always have thick tissue paper (loads of em) on the connections.

The only parts I didn't include in the list are tubes and fittings. And ofcourse u also need cutting, de burring tools and a heat gun, maybe diy bending tools.

Have the 45mm thick rad in the side with noctua industrial fans and reservoir.

Slim 30mm rad in the top with ML pro fans.

Just consider this case. Best case for custom loop imo.

And regarding monoblock / cpu block, this is a 6 core cpu. Not much power draw.

Also consider having 2 of these each flow indicator
digital temperature sensor

I would also advise against 1080ti sli. 1 1080ti is more than capable of powering a 100hz 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor.

Man thank you so much. This is really helpful. However I have one more question. I got most of my parts from doing the custom loop configurator on ek’s website. It said I needed an atx bridiging plug. Could you explain to me what that is used for?
