Question What parts of the motherboard produces the most heat ?

Yeah that's it, Something popped in to my head and kept on lingering.
CPU itself aside, the CPU VRM when the CPU's working hard. But the chipset on some motherboards can also get pretty hot even when the CPU's barely working.

And then some motherboards have VRM sections with huge heatsinks and are massively over-spec'd, especially for a mid or low core count CPU's. That VRM would barely generate any heat even when the CPU is working hard. Also remember a motherboard isn't one single function but several which can vary considerably between brands and models. So I have to imagine there could be some boards with other circuits on board that could get really hot when exercised heavily. So really, it depends on the motherboard and how it's being used.
