what parts should i upgrade on my pc

yo, im looking to upgrade my pc but im not sure what parts to do first (gaming a forthought). here are my specs.

4.20 ghz AMD A8-7650 r7 quad core processor

16 gigs DDR3 RAM

AMD radeon R7 4095mb graphics card

gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2 motherboard

and 1tb of storage

any help would be great

What is your upgrade budget? What is your power supply's mfg. and model #? Which AMD R7 GPU do you have or is it integrated? Your 1 TB of storage is a hard drive and not a SSD?

Without knowing any of the above information, I would suggest upgrading to an Intel CPU / Z170 motherboard and DDR4 memory.

Since you already have 16gb of ram, i'd say get a platform you can re-use that in. A 4690k, Z97, GTX960/970 would be the best option, but 4460+H81 is also great if you're not looking to spend so much. I assume your GPU is integrated, because there's no R7 series GPU that holds 4GB.

^ Great idea. @Jbird If you're running Windows 7 then I definitely concur that the i5-4690k or i7-4790k are the better bets. Getting USB 3 to work under Windows 7 with Skylake, is a serious pain.
