As per the issues I'm having here https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...painful-popping-sounds.3749876/#post-22611066 , I'm in the market for another set of headphones - specifically ones that don't run on 2.4 ghz. I'm afraid mine are experiencing some wicked interference from a combination of things, even if my new PC now has its bluetooth and wifi off, even in Device Manager. Even my phone wifi and bluetooth... Idk. It's a massive headache and I might need to get my motherboard replaced.

But I've thrown a bunch of wired and wireless headphones at my PC and they all pop and click etc., whereas my last PC never did (more troubleshooting steps taken in the link above if you're curious). So I'm left with this course of action. Unless anyone here thinks that avoiding running headphones at 2.4 ghz won't solve the problem of interference for some reason. I assume it would.

What headphones exist that do not work at 2.4 Ghz? Note that bluetooth runs at 2.4 ghz as well. I heard the official xbox ones run at like 3.1 ghz I think, but then I heard naw they're also 2.4 ghz. And beyond that, I think I found one cheap set of headphones that run at 5ghz, but...it looks like it is otherwise bad. And headphones are important to me, since I live in an apartment. So what else is out there that would actually be a good pair of headphones that might not experience interference from my PC?

Solution
the radio spectrum is officially split up for various uses. 2.4 ghz is one of the very few bands that is not reserved for other uses. that's why everything uses it,

other than 5 ghz i don't think there is any other available band to use.

if wired headsets also have the issue then it is not interference anyway. need to look elsewhere
Per your other thread I’d expect the route cause of the problem is either the motherboard or psu. If correct you need that issue resolved before any headsets will work correctly. I suspect the problem resides in the power rails of the motherboard or psu. I have several XBox headsets that I connect to my pc using the Xbox wireless dongle and a Razer set that uses its own 2.4GHz dongle. None of these suffer any popping or clicking.

I'm dying to get that motherboard replaced but it's a very long story as to why I can't; not just yet. You're entirely right about it being a sensible next step I believe (and I'll try to get the PSU replaced at the same time as per your suggestion).

But in the meantime, I'm genuinely suffering as a result of this ongoing problem lol. I really would love to get a faster solution in the form of new headphones but I guess 2.4ghz and bluetooth are essentially all that exist these days?

Yeah if you're saying that then I'm extra sure about it being a motherboard issue then. I don't know why I think I was still leaving the possibility open in my mind that interference could be the cause even with wired headphones still having the issue. Much appreciated.
