What pcie connectors do I have to plug In for my GPU?

Hey,
I'm building a pc and have an asus gtx 970 turbo. Altogether it has 8 pins. Can I just use a 6 pin + 2 pin cable on my psu to connect the GPU or do I have to use different cables? (I have two 6 pin + 2 pin cables coming from my psu).

yup, use the 6+2. the +2 is separate since some cards use just 6, others use 6+2, others use 6+8 (where 8=6+2), and so on.
