What Power Plug do I need for my GTX 1080ti Zotac Amp Extreme Core

I need a specific link to a power cord or cords which I can plug into my PSU VGA 1 or GPU port and from there plug into 2 8 pin connecters on my card. I have already tried one cord which only plugs into the CPU part of my PSU and not into the GPU port, and when plugged into this CPU port my computer will not start.

Only use the cables that come with that specifuc psu. If it’s good enough for that gpu it’ll have cables labeled pcie and will probably be 6+2 pin.

Thanks for the quick response, but the cable I have with my PSU is only 8 pin to 6+2 pin, while I need one which goes to dual 6+2 pins. I need a cable that connects to the gpu port of my psu also. BTW i have EVGA 650 watt power supply, and my entire system was running perfectly with my old card my gtx 1070 mini, as it was plugged into the "VGA 1" port of my PSU. Also one more thing: I am wondering if I should just use 2 power cables as I do have 2 other power cables but i don't want to give to much power to it accidentally and have a resistor burst or something.

What did you do with the rest of the cables? That link you provided says the psu comes with 6 PCIe cables and 2 cpu cables. NEVER use cpu cable to power a graphics card, only PCIe. You have VGA1 through to 4 ports.

You shouldn't have been able to fit the cpu plug into a PCIe port anyway.

Ok I realized that the cable I bought was obviously only meant for CPU as you stated. The link to the power supply that I showed you came with the extra cables, but I don't have those cables anymore. I do however have 1 8 pin to 6+2 pin PCIE cord which has worked fine in the VGA 1 port, so would it make more sense to plug in an adapter which splits the 6+2 pins of that functional cable into dual 6+2 pins like this: https://www.amazon.com/Express-Graphics-Splitter-Extension-TeamProfitcom/dp/B077WRCZWD/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 ?

It say your power supply came with "4 x 8-pin (6+2) PCIe" cables. So you just use 2 of those. The gpu should take 2x 8 pin I'm assuming

This is where you're going to have to be very careful because mixing cables like that (even though the plugs look the same) there's a good chance it'll fry the graphics card and take out your psu because the wiring is not universal and psu's don't follow a standard so the pinouts can be different.

You can try your luck but if i was you, i'd get onto EVGA themselves and purchase pcie cables from them specifically for your psu model. I'm sure they'll help you out.

He knows that, he doesn't have the extra cables the psu came with. He bought a cpu cable by mistake. Actually it probably saved him a great deal doing that and coming here to find out more.

Best to email EVGA, tell them your situation. Mention your exact power supply.

Ya sorry i am very new to all of this. Right now however I have a single PCIE EVGA 650watt cable which works fine in the right slot. I need one more of these. So all I really need a link to a place where I can buy this as a single cable and not in an EVGA pack, however if that is not possible, I will also be willing to buy an EVGA cable pack if it is under around $30. Also thanks for all the responses everyone, it is true I would probably have ended up blowing way to much money and never finding the right cable so I am so happy I came here to ensure I'm buying the right thing this time.

It's good to ask. You weren't even really wrong with the splitter. I would stay away from those. But they might work. If your gpu had a splitter/adapter with it, I think I would use it. I would just double check the psu manual first.

If you still have your psu documents and register it at Evga then go to support there's a good possibility they can send you a cable for nothing.

Sorry, read your question wrong.

Use two separate cables would be best.

There are PSUs that use splitters (8 to 2x 8pin )but are designed for it. Not sure if your psu is capable of that.

Ok, so I will be ordering another EVGA g1 series specific PCIE(VGA) cable. Thanks for all this information, as I know by myself I probably would have short circuited my GTX 1080ti, which wouldn't have been the best thing I'm think.
