Nope, the GTX 970 does not use much power... you could get away with a good quality 450w PSU(but i wouldn't recommend it), 550w is plenty.

what about this Evga Supernova 750 G2 Power Supply 750w Full Modular PSU (Gold 80+ Certified) its on ebay cheap and ending in 3 hours would that be ok?
