Hello,

I am think of building myself a computer. He is what I am thinking of getting:
- Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Processor
- Crucial Ballistix Sport 4 Gb DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9
- Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H
- Three MSI Radeon R9 280X GAMING 3G
- A couple of fans
- And maybe a water cooling system

I am still not sure what I should be getting as a power though as I am not sure how many watts I will be needing. Please let me know what you think.

Another question I might also ask while I have the chance is: do you think I can fit all of this easily without it getting too messy in the NZXT H400 case?

Thank you very much. Any answer or suggestion is much appreciated.

Thank you for warning me. I will try and get another CPU. Thank you. What about the Intel Pentium G3220. I know that isn't very powerful. But for what I want to do it is enough as I will probably not be using many cores.

EDITED: And also when I used this website to get an estimate: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp it estimated that I needed about 2000W and when I used this website ( http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx ), it estimated about 1500W...

Do you really think 500W is enough? Because I don't want to have too little.

why in the world would somebody put 3 r9 280x in crossfire, 2 way crossfire is barely functionning okay and is not supported very well in most games...you would be much better off with 2x r9 290 man...your third GPU will be sitting there doing nothing 95% of the time and the 2nd GPU will do the same 30% of the time and when it will be working it will push you like a 40 to 60% boost...i would reconsider the whole built if you want my input on this.

Looks like a mining rig. 3x 280x, weak CPU, 4 GB ram.... That machine serves only one purpose.

Yes, correct it is for mining. :)

Do you know much about mining? What would you suggest? I will probably be using clevermining.com to mine different scrypt coins for best profitability.

Sorry I won't be much help there - I'm a gamer 😉

Just noticed the hardware and figured it was a miner rig
