What processers can i use in a w3609

hi i have a emachine w3609 with a coryville D945gcl mother board i need a cpu upgrade running windows 7.. has a 3.33 ghz intel celron d socket 775 cpu now..

You didn't give your budget, nor your usage.

Anyways, 945 G/GC supports Pentium Dual Cores as well as Core 2 Duos.

I'll say depending on your budget, getting a PDC E5500, or a C2D E7500/E8400 for best value makes sense.

All these 3 will be a significant improvement from your Celeron.

I'm certain that the E6700 C2D is the fastest you could go with D945GCL mobo OEM/eMachines....you can't flash the OEM BIOS(there isn't another one to flash it to from eMachines/Gateway) nor will the INTEL BIOS upgrades in BIOS work, because of the BIOS microcodes IDing the OEM board. So the 7xxx/8xxx series won't work w/OEM board. I have installed the E6700 myself with no flashing...straight out of the box and it fired up beautifully. Just remember to update device manager in Windows afterwards for the driver!! Good Luck!
