What processor should I get?

I'm looking at building a desktop computer for around $600 and was not sure what kind of processor to get. I'm looking at an AMD FX 8350 for the high clock speed and the eight cores. I need one that can handle newer games such as Xcom 2, The Witcher 3, and the like, I will also be doing some programming so I will need one that can handle that. In your opinion, what processor should I get, also could you recommend a motherboard to go along with it, and a video card?

Sounds reasonable for your price. Probably a graphics card such as the GTX 950 Ti would be in your price range or the R7 370. I think it would be more reasonable for your build if possible however to go with a R9 380 or GTX 960. A 6th gen i3 will perform slightly faster than the FX chips in games and a i5 would defiantly suffice but I think it is out of your budget.

If you can look into the i3s should do you a better job than the old FX chips.
