Ive heard of things like memtest etc. Which programs are good. Prefer to run it from windows Vista 64 since I never installed a floppy drive(help with some basic instructions if you can)

I can install a floppy from my old pc if I 100% need to but its old and dirty looking and I dont use that drive for anything else.

Any and all tips on software for this pc appreciated!!

Thanks in advance

well it depends on what you're pc is being used for. There are many gaming benchmarks that are very GPU dependent. Memtest is an excellent program for troubleshooting ram problems and can be useful for verifying proper functioning of newly bought RAM.

If you plan on overclocking, Prime95 is a must to test the stability of a potential overclock setup.

If you want to benchmark your PC in terms of gaming performance, 3dmark06 and 3dmark Vantage are two excellent bechmarking programs.

from what i understand it just does an insane amount of mathematical computations to push your cpu to 100% or near 100% activity levels. It will push whatever hardware you have to the max.
