What I am considering to have:
Intel i7-5820K
AMD R9 390X

Long story short, I am a bit confused what psu would I need. I have 650w already, but I doubt it will be enough and I would probably go with 850w one

Nah, Im not interesting in overclocking, I want something that will last for years to come.
What are the signs that there isnt enough power supplied? will something start frying or just simply cut out?

That is a fair shout. I was just aiming towards higher end but something not too stupid. Well, if having i7-4790K wont make noticeable difference I suppose I could go with that, and put the extra money on a second graphics card since that is the reason why i am upgrading all my system. I have no complains about my current amd phenom ii x6 1090t
The use will be games and programming, 50/50

nah, I dont mind paying extra 50 pounds for that 0.6 GHZ. But if i go with h97 or z97, the idea of two graphics cards go through the window, right?
The 5820 attracted me because of twice as big cache, even if im not overclocking, that is pretty significant difference.
And gaming, 1920x1080, pretty standard. Im just thinking about games like wow where u have loads of people and loads of graphics happening at the same time, i struggled with for as long as I remember, so I want to put assuring end to my struggle.

No. An appropriate Z97, at about 100 quid, will allow two GPUs in SLI. The extra cache will be of limited benefit in gaming. Gaming system are GPU limited. What was your old system? Running 2 GPUs of any value will need 750W or more for the PSU.

Skylake will come out soon and may change the market a little.

But I see skylake will be lga-1150 socket, which is weird.
Yeah, two GPU will definitely need more power.
My current system is:
AMD phenom II X6 1090T , 3200Mhz
Radeon HD 6950
Gigabyte mobo GA-970-DS3
8gb ram and stuff

5 years and still working great, with an exception in gaming area. But I think I am little bit pushing CPU's and GPU's life expectancy. Same goes with PSU, but I dont think I should be worried of it suddenly dying as it does not happen that often?
