I'm building a new DAW for recording and video editing usingf the ASUS Z9PA-D8 Motherboard with Dual Xeon E5-2667 V2 (8 cores and Turbo at 4.0). I'm not sure which PSU I should get. My older daw (same Motherboard) has the Antec High Current Gamer 750W PSU in it but I was looking at the Antec HCP-850PLATINUM to see if it would work or be overkill.

I'll have at least 6 HD in the unit.

I was also considering the Antec HCG M HCG-850M 850W.

My video card will be the ASUS GeForce GTX 1070.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The antec high current gamer is a pretty good seasonic built psu, I would have no problem using that again assuming it isn't very old. 1000watts is overkill and a waste of money in my opinion, the RMx is a good psu however, if you want to go with one of those I would recommend the 750watt version instead.

Cool! I'm putting it in the Obsidian 900D as well.

The only reason I got the 1000w version was because the 1000w was the same price on newegg (on that day).
