Hi there,

I am putting together a new computer build with a MSI Performance Gaming AMD X470 motherboard, Ryzen 5 3600x, and a 1660 super. The PSU I originally bought was a EVGA 110-BQ-0500-K1 and the issue was it didn't come with a 12 pin CPU connector which the motherboard supposedly requires. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to which PSU would be compatible with the motherboard since the original one I had did not work.

Thank you!!

There's no such thing as a 12-pin CPU power connector.

The MSI Performance Gaming AMD X470 has an 8-pin and a 4-pin for CPU power.

A Ryzen 5 3600x is only a 95W CPU. You only need the 8-pin power connector.

Thanks for the reply. Which PSU would you recommend that would be compatible with those parts I listed?

650 watts would probably do for that build, just make sure that you do hours of research before you buy one, so that you know that they aren't poop PSU's.

Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions on which PSU brand to go with? Are they all compatible with the motherboard in terms of coming with the proper connectors?

Looking at your psu its a semi-moodular,
so it should have the 24 pin connection already for you to plug in,
the other end of that is the 12 pin but on a semi modular its wired in the psu directly
you shouild also have another cable coming out of the psu which you use for the cpu power

if it hasnt then get a retun/replacement
