What PSU wattage is good for my pc?

Intel DG41WV
2GB DDR3 1333MHZ NON-ECC RAM
320GB Hard Drive
19'inch LG Flatron W1934S


I'm planning to buy a video card EVGA GT430 1gb ddr3 128bit hdmi... I'm using a generic psu 400w right now., so do i need to change my generic psu to a branded psu but i can only afford a cheap psu... what should i do???

You should be under 400 watts but "they" reccomend headroom of 150% so 600 watts would give you room to grow. Probably should not run a generic that close to max.

Get one on sale. I would go with at least 80+ or 80% efficient or better.
Cheapest I see now is Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W that is 80 +. I would srart watching to sales. A good one will come along.

What is the specifications listed on your current power supply's label? It may already be sufficient.

my 400w generic psu is have only +12v 17a, do you think i can use gt 430 with it but it says (+12v with a current 22a)???

It might work but I wouldn't trust a generic power supply to be able to deliver what it specifies on its label.

If the power supply can actually deliver a continuous 17 Amps on its +12V rail then it should, in theory, work.

so which video card is good without changing my generic psu?? or what psu do you recommend to me?
i would just like to play games like Call of DUty without too much lags. pls help

A cheap but yet affordable PSU I usually recommend would be the Corsair CX430V2 or the Antec EA 380D. Both are at the same price but usually one or the other have mail in rebates or discounts that make it very affordable.

These are the two absolutely cheapest and yet quality PSU i'd ever recommend.

Antec 430D is on sale at NewEgg.com for $40. Don't know if they ship to Phillippines.

There's not much of a selection available in the Philippines.

This Antec VP Series 450 Watt (VP450) should do the job.

At least there's a reputable review available for it and it can deliver the power stated on its label. Actually it can deliver more than what stated on the label so there is some reserve capacity. It doesn't have the latest technology like automatic AC input voltage detection and selection and a PFC circuit.
