Context: My power supply unit was defective and I needed to return it. The problem is that the unit is sold out almost everywhere online. In places where it is available it's $50-$70 more expensive than the ($78) price I paid for it originally. What's another power supply unit that would work with my build?

I would stick with tier A or B. You might be able to get away with a C tier but I would avoid it. It might be best to buy 650 Watt as well if you plan on upgrading to a much more power hungry card down the line, but otherwise 550 is usually a safe bet.
