The Samsung monitor is 4k so you'll need a decent GPU. I wanted that monitor, but my GPU is too weak. I think that monitor is great if you have the power to run it. The ASUS PB278Q is a great 1440p monitor.

The U28D590D* series are quite good.

Another possibility is the AOC U2868PQU, but the Samsung monitor is slightly better in performance (contrast).
