Question What RAM and for what price?

I made another thread about what cpu etc and have ordered most of the components besides the RAM, I know I need / want G.skill and have my sights on 32GB of ddr4 CL16 3600 trident Neo.

But the prices have jumped up for some reason?

I'm not 100% on the timings and I'd prefer not to spend more on ram than I have on two of the other component's, but then again I don't want to live to regret it, was going to get either one of the below, but I'm not so sure now.

RGB would be nice but I don't have to if the performance Vs price is right.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks 👍🏼

Here's the ram I'm looking at.

Memory prices have started rising and all the forecasts that I see indicate further increases. You really have to think about how long you would be willing to wait, as prices could do anything over a longer period, but probably won't drop much in the short term.

Also, if you want 32GB now, buy it. Don't plan to add 16GB more, as memory is only tested and guaranteed to run as the set purchased. I'd buy the 32GB now and start using your other parts. I've used plenty of that G.Skill and it is a great choice. Best of luck.

Perfect.

Which one would you go for? And what timings would I aim for?

3200mhz with 16-18-18-38 £111

or

3600mhz with 16-19-19-39 £89.90

The 32 is actually more than the 36 somehow?

I think the 3200Mhz,it's a quicker delivery as well..

Ebuyer had some but they're gone and I don't trust eBay at all.

Checking performance.

I'm going for the 3200, it'll be quicker and the speed difference appears to be down to a couple of FPS and 1% lows are really not that different, infact the 3200 beats out the 3600 in a lot of games

Definitely, for me I would choose 32GB of the 3200 kit (2x16GB) over 16GB of 3600 kit (2x8GB). Indistinguishable performance as far as speed and twice the memory looking at the two kits you posted.
Have ordered the 3200 tighter timings..

They're both 32GB btw.

Will check to see if it can be overclocked..

Should be here in a few days.

Good decision, but your link to the 3600MHz for £89.90 links to: "3600MHz.Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz, CL16-19-19-39, 1.35V, 16GB RAM (2 x 8 GB)" I'm just clarifying that for future readers of the thread. 👍

I bought them all.. have the pc built..

Looks great, haven't really tested it though.

The BIOS wasn't letting windows not, needed to turn on compatibility to even see previous bootable drives.

Working now, lots of settings I've never heard of before.

Will have a good look over the weekend.

DOCP on for the RAM, haven't looked at overclocking the CPU yet.. will see how it goes.

Temps at idle are around 22c

Nice. Always good to just run at stock for a while and do all your testing (memtest, stress) before pushing your build. Enjoy.
Works definitely like tighter timings on ram and a higher OC at some point.

Will have a go at it at some point. 👍🏼
