Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my PC:
- i7 6700k
- GTX 1070 STRIX
- ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2
- Samsung 850 PRO 256 GB
- LiteOn IHAS124-14 24x SATA Internal DVDRW
- Corsair RMi Series RM850i ATX/EPS Fully Modular 80 PLUS Gold 850 W Power Supply Unit
- Asus Z170-DELUXE LGA1151 Socket ATX Motherboard
-Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Will upgrading my RAM to 32gb from 16gb improve my performance? if so, which RAM should I get?

Also, which water-cooler should I get?

Solution
Okay, well you didn't mention virtual machines. That's a whole different ballgame. More RAM could improve your virtual machines if you are running more than a couple.

The H115i Pro is good. The EVGA CLC 280 is slightly better. Either would be a good choice though as far as an AiO.

No, increasing your RAM to 32GB will not improve gaming performance (if gaming is what you're looking to improve). But, upgrading to 3200MHz of at least 16GB RAM will help some.

What case do you have and what is your budget for a cooler? You could definitely use a better cooler.

Upgrading your GPU would be the best way to increase performance.

What is your monitor resolution and refresh rate?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I'm looking to improve the speed of the computer e.g. having many tabs open. Improving Gaming is a plus but not essential. My budget for a cooler would be max £150.

my case is: Corsair - Carbide Clear 600C ATX Full Tower Case

My refresh rate is 144hz, 27 inch, and resolution 1920x1080:
Asus VG278HV 27 inch Gaming Monitor, 144 Hz, 1 ms, 1920 x 1080, HDMI, DVI, Height Adjustable

I find it difficult to believe that you are experiencing slowness with multiple tabs open as it is. But, if you did want to upgrade your RAM then getting 3200MHz or faster would be a good idea on however much you felt like spending money on.

The Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 I have from years ago was not sufficient enough for my old i7-4790K; so I woudln't expect it to be sufficient enough for the 6700K either. With that in mind, getting a better CPU cooler should be a priority.

I'd go with the EVGA CLC 280 or the NZXT Kraken X62 if you want a liquid AiO. Or an Noctua NH-D15, Cryorig R1, or Dark Rock Pro 4 if you want to save money and get something more reliable than liquid.

*Edit: Those would be my choices of Liquid AiO if I lived in the US, if you live in Europe you might have different options.

I mean if I want multiple virtual boxes open etc...

I live in europe. Do you think https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-cooling-advanced-software-lighting/dp/B077G3C6HH/ref=sr_1_13?s=computers&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1536961176&sr=1-13&keywords=water+cooler&refinements=p_72%3A419153031%2Cp_76%3A419158031%2Cp_89%3ACorsair is a good choice?

Could you please link me RAM that you would recommend alongside my current RAM. Thank you
