There is no issue running that memory with your system as it is compatible with 2400mhz RAM. However I don't think that upgrading your memory to "Gaming RAM" is going to be very beneficial to you. Modern AAA games don't utilize 16GB of memory so you wouldn't see any performance increase in that, and unless your memory has a speed of under 1300mhz, the speed upgrade wouldn't do much good either. Out of curiosity what are you system specs? I know what a pain a lower end AMD CPU can be, perhaps a CPU upgrade could do more help to you?

My specs are:
760GM-P34
AMD FX-6300 3.6GHZ
GTX 960 FTW
2 Sticks of 4GB ram no clue what they are they are just green
CX600M psu
Sorry i'm kinda new to this just wanting a good gaming pc and its pretty good where it stands if you recommend any upgrades like motherboard or stuff like that? Thanks

Ah I see. I do have to apologize, MSI's site lead me to believe the board can handle that memory speed but as Tradesman1 said, it only runs up to 1866. Personally I don't have experience with GSkill memory, but I still want to urge that 16GB will yield no benefit to 8GB in modern gaming. Kingston Hyper X memory is my choice in memory:

Star citizen is a bit of an ambitious game in my opinion. None the less it also calls for an I7-5960X and an FX 9590. I have a hard time believing those will be the norm before long. SWBF confused me. it did recommend 16GB but I was fine running it on my secondary rig with just 8. a bit bizarre. Regardless most AAA games out next year top out at 6GB.

'NB' is northbridge frequency which should be 2000mhz. Can you not just copy and paste the website link?

Okay so with memory being double data rate (DDR), your current memory speed is 1333mhz. Upgrading to 1866mhz will yield a slight performance increase yes, however your money might be better spent somewhere else.
