Question What Ram Do I Need

Hello all sadly I am not computer literate at all. I am in need of some more RAM and don't know what one to buy I would probs get it from amazon or curry's or somewhere like that unless there are any other sites I am not aware of. I have downloaded the program Speccy and this is what it came back with regarding RAM

I see that you have 4 memory slots. I would toss out your old RAM, and get all new. What is the model of your motherboard? Are you gaming? If so, you may want faster RAM.

Omce you get the model number of the RAM, you can buy it wherever you would like, though I think Crucial only guarantees their RAM if you buy it directly from them.

Which motherboard model do you have?
I suggest you sell the 8GB and get a 16GB RAM kit to avoid issues.

It is not recommended to mix RAM modules that were not tested to work together, since it is hard to predict the outcome.
Even though half of the time it might just work fine, mixing and matching stick that may have different speed, CAS latency, timings,voltage, etc could cause a motherboard to refuse to work
Even when they appear to be similar, the IC chips might come from different manufactures.
To be sure that RAM will work together you will have to buy RAM kits.
Manufacturers and vendors won't provide support for mismatched RAM configuration.

Yes, that is correct. Latches on the side of the RAM hold it in. You will need to pull those to teh sides to remove it. You will want one of the first two choices, the 16GB kit or the 32 Gb kit. If you get the 16Gb kit, you will need to put it in the correct two slots. The MB manual will tell you which ones.

Other brands are good too, e.g. G. Skill, Corsair. You'll have to let them scan your computer or plug in your MB info to get the correct ones.

I looked at it as it says DDR3-1600 which i belive is what i need?
