I recommend any of the OCZ DDR2-800 at cas4 or better.

This ones a steal at $100 after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227139

Ive gotten all my rebates from OCZ, they just took a while.
Yeah, for optimal performance(why not, on their fastest CPU?)DDR2-800 and try for DIMM's rated to perform with 4-4-4-12 timings@ that speed. 2GB(Dual-Channel...2x1GB), of course is preferred, but not a total necessity(though wise in VISTA). GL :)

DDR will not work with an AM2 chip
You'll have to wait until AM3 chips come available (2009ish)
but I would say DDR2 800 at cas 4

Check this table to see. Generally it´s best to buy DDR2 800 though.

I am running the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4, this is DDR2 and is rated at 4-4-4-12 timings but at stock CPU speed it runs at 375Mhz (DDR750).

This allows either tightening of the timings a little or overclocking the CPU without relaxing the timings.

If you are not overclocking, a good option would also be some 667 memory that is capable of good timings as this will run at the specified speed IE: 3000Mhz @ 1:9 = 333Mhz (DDR667)
