What RAM should I be looking for?

Upon looking at tons of different RAM sticks and trying to find a right match, what is it exactly I should be looking for?
For example the meaning for PC4 19200? The number after DDR? (ex. DDR4-2400). And lastly how to know exactly if it's compatible with my desktop.

What kind of desktop do you have? What CPU do you have? And if possible what motherboard do you have?

Each system has a specific memory specification. You can check with manufacturer of the system for the memory specifications and then use that information to search on RAM selling sites such as crucial or memorystock or any other site.

PC4 is DDR4, as PC3 is DDR3. The number identifes the generation of the RAM.

If the spec of the manufacturer's match the one you are looking for, then you can know for sure the compatibility.

You will need DDR4 2400mhz RAM. Not sure how much you want to get but always buy in dual channel meaning if you want 8GB get the one sold ina set of 2 4GB sticks, 16GB set of 2 8GB, etc.

I wouldnt go super cheap but you dont need anything special. 8GB of GSkill Ripjaw or Team Vulcan will be about 90 bucks.

I found a forum posting and apparently the motherboard will only support 2400 speed Memory.

After reading over 100 Q&A on that amazon page I saw a link to the product by the seller...

it should be a HP Pavilion Power 580-023w , please confirm this for me.
