I would want to upgrade my RAM memory but I don't know anything about it.
I want to upgrade from my: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL9 @1.5V UDIMM 240-Pin Memory BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00
To a 16GB ram memory (2 times 8GB sticks)
I don't know what brand to choose, frequency, timing etc.
I want the best one for under €200
What I'm going to do with them: intensive gaming while live streaming/recording
My specs:
Ram: see above
Processor: i5 6500 3,2 GHz Quad core
Motherboard: MSI 970 GAMING
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB dual fan (I will soon upgrade it to: MSI Radeon RX 480 4GB)
Power suply: 600 watts (idk what brand)
Operating system: Windows 10 64 bit

What ram should I use with these specs?

I was thinking about buying: Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2800C16 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 2800 MHz C16 XMP 2.0
But it has a C16 latency and I don't think that that's good (I read that lower numbers are better)

Thanks for any feedback

Appears so.

At any rate, this RAM is on your motherboard's approved vendor list, and would be a compatible upgrade.

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

Here's the issue.

If you do in fact have the 6500, you need DDR4 RAM,
If you do in fact have the MSI 970 Gaming (an AMD socket board), you cannot possibly have the i5-6500, and need DDR3 RAM.

So we need this cleared up to help.

this can't run.

the MSI 970 only runs AMD CPUs.
an Intel i5-6500 wouldn't fit on that board, yet alone start up.
it's like trying to drive a boat on the interstate.

so either your CPU is in fact an AMD FX 6300 (or something like that) or your board is a MSI B150/H170/H110 Gaming

we need to clear that up first because these systems use different RAM

I didn't really understand your comment but I think that you mean that I need DDR3 ram to run the i5 6500 and msi 970 gaming???
Cause I currently have DDR3 ram with the i5 6500 and the msi 970 gaming and everything runs fine at 1080 high. (In games)
Do I need to upgrade something? Change something? What ramakes would be the best? (DDR3 or DDR4)

again this is NOT possible.

an i5 CANNOT run on a MSI 970 gaming board.
those two parts are NOT compatible with each other.

furthermore an i5-6500 takes heavy damage with DDR3 RAM and fry
a MSI 970 Gaming doesn't boot with DDR4 RAM

so something doesn't check out there with your build.

sorry but this is not possible.
to quote the page:

Deze processor [i5-6500] werkt enkel in combinatie met een socket 1151 moederbord.
Socket AM3+ [MSI 970 Gaming]

I'm pretty sure you either don't have this CPU or this Board.
but this configuration wouldn't be able to boot.

probably not.

how long do you have your rig?
chances are you got an i5-4670 or an i5-4690 not an i5-6500

if you right-click on "computer" and select "properties" Windows displays you your current CPU (at least up to Windows 8. don't know if it's still the same in Win10)

(I'm on my other account) I know that this has nothing to do with ram but, can I use this graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB?
